AYURVEDA - GOOD or BAD.. ??

AYURVEDA  is made up of two words AYU meaning LIFE and VEDA meaning BOOK, the word AYURVEDA itself speaks for its name , that is THE BOOK OF LIFE  OR THE KNOWLEDGE OF LIFE.

AYURVEDA is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has its origins in the Vedic culture of India. Although suppressed during years of foreign occupation, Ayurveda has been enjoying a major resurgence in both its native land and throughout the world. Tibetan medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine both have their roots in Ayurveda.
AYURVEDA not only treats the unhealthy but it is a way to live life. The aim of AYURVEDA is -

  "प्रयोजनं à¤šास्य à¤¸्वस्थस्य à¤¸्वास्थ्यरक्षणमातुरस्यविकार à¤ª्रशमनंच!! "

Which means keeping a healthy individual healthy and making a sick individual free from his disease.

Ayurveda  is a science which consists of eight subjects.

·         Kayachikitsa:  general medicine, medicine of the body
